My brother came home for the holidays and brought home these macaroons that's so yummy!

It has some kind of gold candy decorations that makes its so elegant and extra ordinary.

They are deliciously soft and creamy!

A Gift With Missing Parts!

Christmas Season...

A time for giving and receiving gifts!

Not only kids are excited to receive gifts! Frankly speaking, I also am excited to received one (whatever it is, it's the thought that counts, really)!

Even more so when we received a gift from my brother(who never fails)! He knows I love to drink coffee so he gave us this coffee-maker. The one that makes you an instant cappuccino or espresso. I was so excited to use it but found out the its missing some parts!

After a thorough check-up, we confirmed that its really missing the grill where you put your cup to catch the flowing coffee. Its good that it came from a family member that we can tell him our concern and ask if he still got the receipt without having to embarrassed him. What if not???

Its like ordering from a drive-thru or take-out counter and upon reaching your destination, you found out there's NO straw, or spoon, or fork, or sauce, or rice, etc. Its just good if you can come back for it but more often that not -- you CAN'T!!!

Anyway, I just hope the one in-charge of packaging would be more careful and cautious and ensure that everything is in order before handing the items to the customers.

Note: We will still schedule our visit to the store from where he bought the coffee-maker and we'll be crossing our finger for a good result.

Pink Fridays: Pink Bag

I'm glad to finally join this meme this week. This pink bag my sister gave me last Christmas is what I'll share for this week.



I still haven't got the chance to use it because, being a mom, I'm used to carrying a lot of things with me while we travel. Alcohol, insect-bite cream, headache ball, mosquito repellant lotion, first-aid kit, face towels, extra handkerchiefs, etc., etc, are some of the things you can find in my bag. Not to mention my own vanity kit! And even if I'm alone, I still carry most of those things. I need large bags that's why I didn't have to chance to use this small bag still...

This flower arrangement was given as a gift for me from my youngest son's pre-school. It's been with me for more than a year now.



It was a reminder that, once, I acted as the PTC-Chairman in my son's school...

Friday's Fave Five # 3

This week has been the busiest yet exciting so far.

1. My JM's 12th birthday. Monday was his birthday. He wanted to treat his classmates some pizza. After bringing them to school, I had to order pizza (good its open 24 hours). I attended the morning mass at Don Bosco Church first before going to the pizza parlor! I know my son is excited to treat his classmates. I'm happy we had the means to make him happy! Thank you, Lord!

2. 2nd Quarterly Test. This week is the second quarterly tests of my kids. We're all busy studying and making reviewers. I'm so glad and thankful that my two sons are now big enough to do the studying with little supervision. I only have my 7-years old to think about.

3. My birthday! Yesterday was my birthday. I didn't plan for anything special. I started the day by attending the morning mass with my husband. My girl friends and I (together with our kids) ate out and had a good chat! Our kids also had a good time. I also received many greetings from relatives and friends thru the net. The day ended up with a sumptuous dinner with the whole family: My husband, my kids, my sisters, my nephew and my mother! I also got a book and an orchid! THANKFUL and LOVED, that's how I felt!!! Thank you, Lord!

4. Achievement Holiday! After the four-day exams at my son's school, they had a no-class day or an achievement holiday. No class means the kids and I will just stay home! Its "our" holiday - our rest day!!! Thank you, Lord!

5. My mother-in-law is back. She's back from her visit to her daughter in Canada. My kids misses her and were due to visit her this weekend. Thank God, she had a safe journey!

So many things to be grateful about sometimes we just forget to say "thank you"!

It's October 11 and my son Joshua Miguel ("JM") is celebrating his 12th birthday. He wants to treat his classmates with some pizza.




While waiting for my orders, I created a poem for my son and it goes like this ...

On this special day
I sit back and recall
Your "coming-out-to-this-world" day
And the joy you've brought to all.

You are now twelve
The sensitive age "in-between"
Where you don't know what to believe
Are you still a child or now a "teen"?

No matter what you are
Whatever you may do
I'll be forever here
Your mother, your friend but never your foe!

As you celebrate your birthday
I wish you nothing but happiness
Enjoy this beautiful day
And remember that we love you and that you're the best!


At home, we celebrated his birthday with the whole family present. Though I was so tired with the preparations, I can see that he was happy! That made me even more happier!

Mommy Moments: This I give to you (Pamana)

What's mine when I was a child were mostly hand-me-downs from my sister. And after I used them, I hand them down to my younger sisters.

So, I just couldn't think of anything to post when lo and behold, as I search for some "treasure" in the house, I found this old Webster Dictionary! I remember my father bought it for us at "Alemar's Bookstore" (an old bookstore in the 70's). We treasured this dictionary so much because we know it came out of my father's Christmas bonus.



Now, my mother gave it to me for my boys to use. It help them a lot like it did me. A true "Pamana" from my parents to me and now for my kids...


P.S.: my eldest son says my "pamana" to him is my near-sightedness. LOL!

A gift from my mother-in-law

Yesterday was my mother-in-law's 77th birthday. We had a potluck party at her place. All her children were there. It was just a small celebration and a sort of despidida party because she's living for Canada on Sunday to visit her only daughter.

As I help her pack her luggage, she gave me a nice gift - a ring! I was so happy!

I received lots of gift from my mom and of course I appreciated it so much. But a gift from my mother-in-law is something else. Although I already received gifts from her, it was on her birthday that she gave me a gift!

Thank you, mommy, I really am so glad you are my mother-in-law. Thank you for raising a good husband for me and great father for my kids. May God continue to bless you with whatever your heart's desire.
