Friday's Fave Five #2

Friday once again, time to recap the whole week. And it is also the 1st of October! It is our favorite month because three of us in the family will be celebrating our birthdays this month.

1. I'M BACK! After almost 2 weeks of no internet connection due to the defective power supply of our broadband, I'm sooo glad I'm back! The side of the village where we transfered doesnt have telephone line connection yet so we rely soley on our broadband. It's more of a blessing when it broke down because a carpenter is schedule to do some work in the house and I got to watch over his work more. Now, the carpentry job was done, the internet connection was fixed and I'm back.

2. TUTOR. My two sons decided to attend a tutoring class! I'm proud of my "JM" (11 y.o.) and my "KEVIN" (10 y.o.) for deciding for themselves and attend a review class twice a week. JM's goal was to get an ACHIEVER AWARD at the end of the school year and requested that I send him to a tutor. Kevin, on the other hand, wants to get the highest Award - The GENERAL SCHOLASTIC AWARD! Its something I don't impose on my kids but I'm so proud of them to have a goal set on their own. I just love them so!

3. CABINETS. About the carpentry job I mentioned, it's the cabinets we ask the carpenter to build. The kitchen cabinets, the walk-in-closet, the kids' cabinet, our living room divider, the center table and our version of console table. Its already built but still need some painting and varnishing job. I'm excited about it because I design all of it! I'll post them as soon as it is finished. :>

4. NO CLASS FRIDAY. Its a "no class" day at my son's school today. It's Lacasa Teacher's Day that's why they don't have classes. I'm not sure what it means but what's important for me and my kids is that we have time to rest the whole day! Tomorrow, Oct. 2, is their schools' Family Fun Day. There will be a community breakfast, fun run, family games and more activities at the school tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

5. T-SHIRTS. Just this morning, my husband gave me these two t-shirts with the pink ribbon designs, as a support for breast cancer awareness.

Card-Giving Day

Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, was the 1st card-giving day for this school year in my sons' school. Of course, parents are more excited that their kids! It's "the day" we are going to find some fruits for our labor. "The day" we are going to be rated (in my own opinion).

It's my job to get all my kids report cards and have a talk with their school advisers.

I'm just soooo happy to know that all of my three (3) boys have a "CONDUCT AWARD" each for having a good behavior in school!

And to top it all, Kevin and Phoebo got an "ACADEMIC AWARD" for showing exemplary performance academically!

I would like to make mention of my Kevin. He's the only one who got a perfect score in their 1st quarter exam in Math and got the bonus question correctly among all grade 5 students. With that, he got a 98% in his report card in Math. Congrats, Kev!

We are so proud of you, kids!

Another quarter has just started. There will be more work to do, more monitorings, more supervisions, more motivations, etc. But we will pass it all - in God's grace!

Thank you, Lord!

Mommy Moments: I Love Toys and Gadgets

My boys don't just love toys and gadgets, they're crazy about it! They're first "major, major" collection is Pokemon miniatures...

Next is their Bakugan collection...

Then, they're into cards and "pogs" (as they call the round cards)...

Without me noticing it, they're into Foldabots (the one's you get from Kidzone)...

Now, they're into Gormiti...

I just can't give it away because, from time to time, they still play with them. Especially now that I've taken pictures of them, its all over the house. Saying how much they've missed them.

And as for their gadgets, they have Nintendo's Gameboys and DS ( Most of it, were gifts from my brother, Edward). I should thank gameboy because my two sons learned to read and comprehend while playing pokemon.

As for my youngest son, Phoebo, he is soooo crazy about cars! Here are a few of his own collection.

And, the biggest one of them all (my husband), will not be left behind - for he has his own collection of toy Ferrari's...

And here are the boys in my life which I've collected!(lol)

...my huggable toys and gadgets!

Nissan or Hyundai

We were thinking of getting the all new Hyundai Tucson because, for me, it looks good (you see, I don't know anything about cars). When we saw the new Nissan Xtrail CVT, and we thought its more like it since its Japanese technology and we've already been using an automatic '04 Nissan Xtrail.

Last week, our Nissan Xtrail's engine just stopped while I'm driving! I tried to start its engine and it took me about 3 to 4 trials before it went on again. It was one of the things that I hate happening because I have all of my kids with me in the car aside from having to stop in the middle of a busy street. Is very stressful especially when the other cars and buses keep on sounding their horns! Stressful, also for the kids!

We had it checked by Nissan last weekend, hoping that would fixed the problem. But yesterday, it happened again! And this time the engine kept on stopping like every 3 - 4 minutes! I got stressed but I pulled myself together and acted as if everything is alright just for the sake of my kids - so they wont get stress also.

We ended up leaving the car in the parking lot and we rode a tricycle going home! I made it look like a new adventure for them so everyone will be excited. We made a short stopped at McDonald's on our way home. Then, I found my youngest son so quiet. When asked why, he said he's got a little scared riding the tricycle because its his firstime but got use to it anyway.

We'll have the car fix again and I hope this time they will really fix the problem because I heard from some friends about the same problem they encountered with Nissan cars (engine stopping out of the blues). So now, we are having second thoughts of acquiring the all-new Nissan Xtrail-CVT.

1-0 in favor of Hyundai Tucson. . .

Nostalgia Entry # 2 - Home Decorations

Its been wonderful that I keep on receiving gifts or donations from family to decorate in our new home.

From my mother, (because she knows I like sunflower)

I just need to get a really nice cupboard to showcase this one.

From my brother, Edward, (his labor of love)

From my youngest sister, Jovy, (her own 3-D scented flower frame)

I really love this one! Thanks sis!

From my eldest sister, Jho, this beautiful picture frame (which I havent decide which family picture to put on yet)

The blue fish was a fighting fish given to my kids by my mom. Its their end-of-school gift from her.

There's a lot more, they say, that they will have to give me. But I those have to wait until I have a house-blessing (hopefully by next month).

Nostalgia Entry # 1 - College Friends Photos

Photobucket

As I read your post and saw that Japanese Doll, I cannot help but show you mine. Exactly the same as yours, sis!

This one was a gift from my younger brother, Edward, who works in an International Law Office in Japan. He gave it to me about 10years ago as a remembrance in our short stay there.

And this is my entry: an old photo of my college days friends!

My friends in college are the ones closest to my heart. I've been keeping these photos as a souvenir. Just a week ago, I've been reunited with my friends in college on-line, my bestfriends! We have so many things to talk about. So many memories to look back to. And I never taught I have missed them so much.
