A Gift With Missing Parts!

Christmas Season...

A time for giving and receiving gifts!

Not only kids are excited to receive gifts! Frankly speaking, I also am excited to received one (whatever it is, it's the thought that counts, really)!

Even more so when we received a gift from my brother(who never fails)! He knows I love to drink coffee so he gave us this coffee-maker. The one that makes you an instant cappuccino or espresso. I was so excited to use it but found out the its missing some parts!

After a thorough check-up, we confirmed that its really missing the grill where you put your cup to catch the flowing coffee. Its good that it came from a family member that we can tell him our concern and ask if he still got the receipt without having to embarrassed him. What if not???

Its like ordering from a drive-thru or take-out counter and upon reaching your destination, you found out there's NO straw, or spoon, or fork, or sauce, or rice, etc. Its just good if you can come back for it but more often that not -- you CAN'T!!!

Anyway, I just hope the one in-charge of packaging would be more careful and cautious and ensure that everything is in order before handing the items to the customers.

Note: We will still schedule our visit to the store from where he bought the coffee-maker and we'll be crossing our finger for a good result.

WHAT ABOUT YOU???

What would you do if you received a gift that has some missing parts?

Wednesday Whites (1/2013): Dinnerware

I decided to set-up our table for our Christmas Eve dinner and use this white dinnerware...
for our fine dining home experience...

...instead of the usual buffet-style.

WELCOME 2013!

Happy New Year!

I've never been more excited to welcome the coming year than this 2013. Maybe because I FEEL there's a lot more in store for me this year. Or maybe because I FEEL that time is flying so fast and there's a lot I need to do with so little time...

I got hold of a pen and notebook and started writing some of the things I wanted for the coming year.

Here's some of them;

1. EAT WELL. Since I'm in charge of taking care of what my family eats, I plan to add more veggies in our meal. I also plan to focus on fruits because my kids eats little of them. In short, I plan to start (hope its not yet late) a healthy lifestyle.

2. EXERCISE. I wish to add a little movement in my life: Walking, jogging, swimming, play some sports and GARDENING! I already feel little aches here and there so I need to move, move, move.

3. SCHEDULE. As a stay at home mom (with no maid), I do what I want, when I want, and how I want things to be done. But most of the time, they're left undone. I really need to STRICTLY follow the schedule I made...

4. BUSINESS. Yes! I wanted a business. I already started a small one and I plan to work more on it this year. Slowly but surely, I hope!

Details of my plans/resolutions are jotted down on my notebook (for my eyes only). Of course, I also included that I be more active in blogging.

So, welcome 2013! I'm looking forward to the promises you have for me!

Good luck to me and to everyone!

Have a blessed prosperous new year!!!

When I hear you call

This video was shown to us parents during our recollection day as a requirement before our children take their FIRST COMMUNION.

Our priest facilitator tried to made us understand our roll as parents for the development of our children.

I realized that one day my children will not need me anymore. They will be on their own to create a journey of their own. I just wish I had equipped them with most if not all they need in their journey. Come what may, we will still be here if they need us. And all they have to do is call...

The Business-side of Me

I sometimes missed working as an employee after resigning for almost 11 years now. But what I actually missed is getting compensated after a day's work! Though, life is different now because I get compensation even if I'm not an employee (thanks to my dear husband).

My husband is the business-minded one. He can do side-lines even before when we were both working. It's the Chinese-side of him, I guess. He taught me the art of buy-and-sell!

Now, we're into buying-and-selling garments, particularly, undergarments. Its more like of a garage sale since we invite my friends and his' to our house to look at the itme we have.

Little by little, I became less shy and I came to love this business. Tomorrow, friends will be coming over for a sale! Good luck to us!

Girl Talk: Old School - 70's

I love walking down the memory lane and I'm so excited to share this photo with you,

Take a look at the fashion of the 70's. I'm the smallest one of all in the picture and my sister (on the other end) is wearing the same dress as mine. That's how my mom used to dress us back then. I think this was taken when I was in grade 4 (in the mid-70s). I remember I don't like to wear this dress because it looks like my "ate"(my elder sister). But now that I've seen it again, I noticed it looks nice on me. It made me look more demure.

Friday's Fave Five # 5

It's time for Friday's Fave Five once again. And it falls on 11-11-2011!

1. Did my second day walk-exercise today. It's my little way of living a healthy life. Thanks for my ever-supportive husband who keep on pushing me to do some exercise to loose weight!

2. I met with old high school friends today to plan for our upcoming Christmas Party. We had so much fun remembering the good old days and we look forward for more new happy days together again.

3. Me and my sons got caught up in the traffic today while going home. There was a vehicular accident. It did us some good because we have some good talk inside the car. Made some jokes, did some contest until we got home! A cool quality time with the boys.

4. A friend celebrated her birthday and I'm glad I did an early Christmas shopping. Choosing a gift for her come in handy.

5. Tasted some milk tea from SERENITEA. Cosy place and refreshing drinks. I enjoyed their tea so much! Hmmmm!
