Mommy and Me Monday: Christmas Day Mass

We decided to have our photo taken in front of the church after attending the mass on Christmas Day.

We got busy afterwards visiting their grandmother in Manila while my husband played Santa Clause.

Blue Monday: The Birthday Celebrant

He's 13years old and officially a teen-ager!

...his shy pose

...his "pa-cute" pose

...and his "i-did-it" pose

He wears his newly-bought t-shirt with "The Sound of the Soul" print on it.

He's into playing guitar, lately, that's why he choose to wear this shirt. I just hope one day I will hear him to sing...also!

The Angry Birds Fever

My youngest son got a whole lot of toys. Being the recipient of toys from his 2 older brothers who are now in their "tweens". I thought I wouldn't have to worry about buying him new toys anymore. Until he got hooked by Angry Birds!

At first, he's just likes to play online. But it has become the new craze in school. We began buying toys, fans, erasers, pens, "pogs", collection cards, and anything that has an "angry birds print" on it. I also can see their pad papers with "Angry Birds" sketches on it!

Although they were not that expensive, I tried to see what do they get out of playing Angry Birds.

By the name itself, it has a negative impression on me. So I got to dig dipper and found out why these birds got Angry. It seems that the green pigs stole the eggs from the birds' nest. That's how the birds got Angry. Now, the birds will try to retrieve their eggs from the green pigs by destroying the structures made by the pigs using a slingshot.

I try to find the benefits my kids will get out of playing computer games esp Angry Birds. It can help in their decision making, improve their physics and math skills, enhance their creativity, improve their problem solving and cognitive skills are some of the benefits kids can get from playing this game.

As a mother, my role is to make sure to balance my kids' time. Time for play, time for studies, time to rest, time for prayer, and time for family. I'll make sure that they will enjoy whatever it is they do and that it is with according to the values we try to instill in them.

Games come and go. Right now, its Angry Birds time!

Orange Tuesdays 16th Edition

Hi, there! I'm so glad to have found "Shengkay's Randomness Journal"and was so excited to join Orange Tuesdays.

Here's my share for the 16th Edition of Orange Tuesdays:

My youngest son, Phoebo, wearing his fave shirt. Posing with the Koi fishes in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

And the Koi fishes, of course, all so eagerly waiting to be fed.

You can also join Orange Tuesday, its fun!

They're Growing Up!

We were strolling in a mall one Sunday afternoon when I noticed my sons as they walked ahead of me. They have grown up and I didn't even noticed it.

My eldest son's already responsible to take care of his siblings.

There are times when they wanted to go out with their friends. (without me tagging along). At first I have hesitations, because for me, they will always be my babies. And babies need their mothers. But, in the end, I still gave them my permission.

I know there are a lot of things they should learn especially now that they're growing up. But, as their mother, I still want to hold-on to them. I wanted to be with them in every step of the way. I wanted to know what they're doing in every minute, second of their lives. Reality is...... I can't be!

Experience is still the best teacher. I only pray and hope that the values they've learned and continue learning from us, as parents and as friends, will guide them through.

Hope and pray that they'll grow up to be GOOD men.

I wish to share with you the message my son, Kevin, gave me last mother's day.

He uses the cellphone we gave him as a reward for doing good in school.

Here it is:

"HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY for the world's greatest mother.
Thank you for taking care of us, helping us with our assignments and projects and does many chores for us. Thank you for all of this.
I LOVE YOU ... Kevin"

I love you, too, baby!

Phoebo's 7th Birthday

Phoebo just turned 7 last December 21, 2010. I asked him what theme he wants for his birthday and he answered he likes Beyblade but he is also a Hotwheels fanatic. I combined these two things he likes to spare him the headache. And this is what I came about for his birthday invitation...

He doesnt like games as it put so much pressure on him, he just want to play with his friends on his birthday. (so he says)

I also had 2 tarpulins printed so I can place it on the walls of our garage...

Ask Momma Wednesday

Photobucket

My youngest son will soon turn 7y.o. I may have spoiled him or overly protective of him because he is the youngest. Now, he seems like scared to try new things (scared to do it on his own). He doesnt want to join even in party games!(although he likes attending parties) What would I do to him?
