Orange Tuesdays # 4

Its Tuesday and its orange time!

Part of the house that I spent most of my time is our kitchen. When I saw this kitchen design from the model house we visited in Laguna, I can't help but wish I had one like it!

...or at least one that looks like it. (Hehehe!)

Happy Tuesdays, everyone!

A (model) House Tour

We had a visit at some model houses in our area one weekend.

My son and I posed at the cozy dining area.

My entry for Mommy and Me Monday,
hosted by Krystyn of Really, Are you Serious?

My sons liked the blue bedrooms.

Joining Blue Monday for the first time,

We enjoyed visiting these model houses which gives us inspirations for our own home.

October is here!

October is the most awaited month in our family, aside from December.

Three of us (me, my eldest and my second sons) will be celebrating our birthdays this October. My eldest son will be turning 13, meaning he's now officially a "teen-ager" and I still have no idea on how to celebrate his birthday. My second son will be turning 12 and he's got lots of achievements lately and rewards are already due.

On the other hand, October is when the second quarter exam is given in my kids' school. Meaning, there will be reviews, reviews, and more reviews.

Lots of work this October, for me. I can't even recall how I did it for the past years. But one thing is for sure, I'll do it out of my LOVE for them and it will all turn out well.

Welcome, October!

Nostalgia - My Husband's Birthdays

I failed to write a post about my husband's birthdays, so it's going to be my entry here in Nostalgia...

Last year, my bestfriend who's working in Middle East visited us on my husband's birthday. We went to Pink Sisters in Tagaytay.

The whole family had a great time with the company of my dear friend, Willie, who I haven't seen for more than 10years.

THIS YEAR, we had a celebration at home with the whole family.

My kids blew some balloons and paint the face of angry birds on it. I prepared their favorites: Pancit Canton, Fried Chicken, Kare-Kare and Menudo.

We also bought a 3-flavored cake (which everybody enjoyed).

I know my husband enjoyed this day so much. He is even so cooperative in posing in front of the camera.

This will be one of the most memorable birthdays I've prepared for him (so far)... love you, Papa!

Mommy Moments - Parenting Tips

mommy moments

Even though we've been parents for almost 13 years now, we still have lots to learn. This week's topic in MM is very dear to me as I'm always interested in listening to other parent's sharing tips with one another.

I have two "would-be teen-age boys", the most sensitive stage. Which means I should be more understanding, more sensitive, more patient, more firm, and more caring.

From the very start, I made sure I am approachable to my kids. I try to know what it is that they like, what it is that they hate, and try to read their minds and actions. I tried my best to act as one of their friends (with authority). I also make it a point that I share my thoughts and feelings with them. So through the years, we've developed a good communication line.

I learned that it is important to practice what you preached. Blaine Bartel wrote is his Big Black Book for Parents that parents should model the following actions for their teens:

1. Be Polite. Treat others with respect. Say please and thank you. Also remember, dads: Ladies first.
2. Smile. Show off those pearly whites. This small gesture will go a long way.
3. Share. This unselfish act is pack with power.
4. Listen. Give others your full attention. They will appreciate the investment.
5. Lend a hand. Mow the lawn for an elderly neighbor, or send a card to a relative you have been praying for.
6. Give a gift. There doesn't have to be a special reason, but the best reason of all is to simply say, "I care about you."

We may not notice it, but our children especially our teens, are watching us and they learn from us - parents!

Wednesday Whites - Kamuning Flowers

Also known as Murraya Paniculata or Orange Jasmine. It is famous for its fragrant white flowers that smells like jasmine.

Makes me feel good when it blooms. I placed it in my front porch so I can smell its sweet fragrant everytime I step out of my door.

Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Chicken Nuggets!

My kids love to eat chicken nuggets. They always asked for it to be included in their "baon" (packed lunch). As for me, it's the most convenient meal I can prepare which they will sure love.

I thought of making my own version of chicken nuggets!

I included ground chicken, chopped bacon, carrots, and cheese.

After molding and frying, here they are ...

It was a success!
