Mommy Moments - New Family Photo

mommy moments

This is our latest family photo.

Taken last new year's eve, with my mother-in-law. It is our latest picture where we had our "firsts". The "first" time we celebrated new year's eve in our home (we usually celebrate it in my mother-in-law's house eversince we got married). It is also the "first" time that my mother-in-law celebrate new year's eve away from her house. The "first" time I hosted a holiday party. The "first" time for the boys to enjoy our own fireworks.

I think I will make it a point to have a family picture more often.

Happy weekend everyone!

Mommy Moments - New Achievements

mommy moments

Last friday is "card-giving day" in my sons' school. I got there a little late because the boys wanted to hang around for awhile before I get their report cards from their respective teachers.

As expected, all my three boys got a "Conduct Award" each. They've had it since the first quarter. I'm just so proud of them.

As for Kevin, my second child, he is working to get a "General Scholastic Award" which the highest academic award given by the school. He set this goal himself and this last quarter is very crucial for him. We just have to make sure that he has our full support.

JM, my eldest, got the newest achievement! He's got the "Academic Excellent Award" for the third quarter and he's done it on his own effort! The way he surprise me with his award also touches me (as most parents will feel). I arrived at their school at around 5:00pm and I went straight ahead to my youngest son's classroom to get his report card. JM got their also and waited until I finished talking with Phoebo's teacher. Afterwards we, JM, Phoebo and me, went to Kevin's classroom to see his adviser. On the way, we met JM's former adviser and she asked about JM's performance. I just said he is still a Conduct Awardee and his former adviser agrees. JM didn't say anything about his other awards. After my talk with Kevin's adviser, it's time to go to JM's. All this time, JM is with me and I just thought maybe his friends has already left the school that's why he's hanging out with me. As I enter his classroom, I sit for awhile since his adviser is still talking with some parents, I have to wait for my turn. I usually go to their bulletin board to read what's posted but that time I just sit back on the chair and wait. While sitting there waiting I look around and started to read their bulletin board. I read the names of the Conduct Awardees and I saw JM's name there. Well, I was expecting it already. Then, I read the the names of the Academic Achievers. It was just a short list, less than ten names were there. To my surprise, I saw my son's name! I was so happy! I said he knew all along but why not tell me firsthand. He said, he wanted to surprise me! And he did!

Good work sons! Keep it up! Mama and Papa is just so proud of you!

Phoebo's 7th Birthday

Phoebo just turned 7 last December 21, 2010. I asked him what theme he wants for his birthday and he answered he likes Beyblade but he is also a Hotwheels fanatic. I combined these two things he likes to spare him the headache. And this is what I came about for his birthday invitation...

He doesnt like games as it put so much pressure on him, he just want to play with his friends on his birthday. (so he says)

I also had 2 tarpulins printed so I can place it on the walls of our garage...

Girls Talk: Grocery

Hello, Girls! This is my first time to talk with you...so

What's always on my grocery list?

I start off with bottled condiments like vinegar, soy sauce and fish sauce. I'm not brand conscious when it comes to these ones but ketchup - we go for Del Monte Sweet Blend! I go for Nescafe Decaf, the kids for Milo or Swiss Miss(if the budget permits). My eldest son(who's 12yo) likes to drink Energen choco now. My husband drinks whatever is available (coffee, choco, or tea). Kids always get their cereal(cornflakes) with fresh milk(cowhead or nestle). I don't miss out getting cookies or biscuits (esp. Hansel, Presto-peanut butter) which I put in their lunch boxes. And speaking of lunch box, they like to have and so I never missed getting chicken nuggets, hotdogs, and bacon. (not so healthy, I know)

I also never miss to pass by the chicken station, where I get fillets of chicken breast, chicken lumpiang shanghai, chicken korean barbecue, and their new favorite the pizza chicken. My kids and my husband are white meat lovers!

One more thing I never miss out is the cream dory fish fillet and the bangus fish fillet - (Seaking) back fillet, fish belly, and the marinated fish fillet.

All of these are for their pack lunch so I must have it in my lists.

Ask Momma Wednesday

Photobucket

My youngest son will soon turn 7y.o. I may have spoiled him or overly protective of him because he is the youngest. Now, he seems like scared to try new things (scared to do it on his own). He doesnt want to join even in party games!(although he likes attending parties) What would I do to him?
